In the Creative Arts project volunteers share their artistic skills with children in Nepal. Volunteers attend a range of child care centres, school nurseries, children’s homes, street children’s shelters and a women’s refuge in order to share skills and create exciting activities to develop confidence and communication abilities.
Volunteers are involved in a range of activities to support the local projects including music, dance or drama lessons, arts and craft sessions, storytelling and puppetry sessions and one-to-one creative writing lessons. It’s a great project for creative people who would like to share their skills and passions with others.
Volunteers have also encouraged the very talented women in the women’s refuge to make and sell their own artwork so they can gain some income. This has been a huge success and we have one of their pictures up in the Pod Volunteer office!
GoAbroad have recognised the achievements and amazing work involved in the Creative Arts project. We wish PoD luck for their project being chosen as a winner!
